Today is National Voter Registration Day, and we’re only six weeks away from the 2020 General Election. Do you have what you need to cast your ballot in Arlington? If not, here is how to register and vote in Arlington, VA.
3 Ways To Register To Vote in Arlington
If you’re unsure if you’re registered to vote, check your registration status online first. You can also call the Arlington Office of Voter Registration at 703-228-3456.
You do not need to register to vote in Virginia again if you are already registered at your current address. However, if your name or address has changed, you should update your registration to avoid delays when you vote.
1. Register To Vote Online
You can register to vote online here . The deadline to register is Oct. 13.
2. Register To Vote By Mail
You can download a voter registration application, fill it out and return it to:

Mailed applications must be postmarked by Nov. 3. But, doing it sooner is always better!
3. Register To Vote In Person
Arlington residents may also register in person at the county’s Registrar’s office (2100 Clarendon Blvd, Suite 320, Arlington, VA 22201) by Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
2 Ways To Vote In Arlington, VA
Once you are registered, then you can vote either by absentee ballot or in person.
1. Vote By Mail
In Virginia, you can vote by mail, but you must request a ballot to do so. You can complete the application for a ballot or download an application. The U.S. Postal Service recommends voters request a ballot as soon as possible but not later than Oct. 19.Your ballot can be returned at a dropbox, in person or by mail. Ballots must be dropped off in person or postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by mail no later than Nov. 6. The U.S. Postal Service recommends voters mail their ballot at least one week prior to the state deadline, by Oct. 27.

If you’re registering or voting by mail don’t wait too long! The U.S. Postal Service sent a warning to the Virginia Secretary of State that deadlines did not allow enough time for mail delivery and could disenfranchise voters.
2. Vote In Person
Of course, you can vote in person in Arlington, VA, either early or on Election Day Nov. 3.
You can vote early in person from Sept. 18 to Oct. 31 at the county’s Courthouse Plaza Early Voting Site at 2200 Clarendon Blvd. Unlike past elections, where you would go into the county office building at Courthouse, this year there is a new voting location in the storefront of the former Wells Fargo Space by Starbucks.
Four other early voting locations will open in Arlington County on Oct. 17 through Oct. 31 at
- Aurora Hills Community Center, 735 S. 18th St.
- Langston-Brown Community Center, 2121 N. Culpeper St.
- Madison Community Center, 3829 N. Stafford St.
- Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 S. 16th St.
