Clarendon is a main nightlife hotspot in Arlington with dozens (… and dozens!) of restaurants and bars.
With such a wide range of options — most with sidewalk, patio or rooftop areas for dining — weekends tend to bring in *big* crowds.
Some of the more notable dining options in Clarendon include:
Ambar
Hip restaurant that focuses on Balkan tapas with outdoor seating.
B Live
Dining and music venue.
Bar Bao
An Asian fusion restaurant and bar with a focus on bao buns. Bar Bao’s large outdoor patio is usually very crowded on weekend nights.
Buena Vida Gastrolounge
Contemporary Mexican restaurant with rooftop seating.
Circa at Clarendon
A neighborhood bistro with a very active happy hour scene and shaded patio.
Don Tito
A Mexican restaurant and bar with a focus on tacos, Tequila and beer with an extremely popular rooftop bar.
Galaxy Hut
One of the area’s first craft beer bars, opening in 1990, Galaxy Hut offers 28 rotating taps, hand held comfort food, with everything available vegan. Insider tip: Come for the beer but stay for the tatter tots!
Green Pig Bistro
American-French cooking with a nose-to-tail ethos.
Liberty Tavern
Widely recognized as one of the region’s top restaurants, I love “Lib Tav” for weekend brunch, happy hour cocktails and dinner. Liberty Tavern has a lively first floor bar/lounge, high-ceiling upstairs dining room and pet-friendly patio.
Lyon Hall
A brasserie featuring French-German cuisine and a wonderful draft (23 on tap) and bottled beer selection. Insider tip: The Thai Curry mussel pot is delicious.
Maison Cheryl
French new-American bistro.
Nam-Viet Restaurant
One of the last remaining traditional Vietnamese restaurants from when Clarendon was known as “Little Saigon.” Features a large covered patio and “Can-Tho-nese” style dishes from southern Vietnam.
Rien Tong Restaurant
Thai and Chinese cuisine. I find myself ordering take out from here when I’m in the mood for Thai food.
Screwtop Wine Bar
Wine bar and restaurant with patio.
Seamore’s
Sustainable seafood restaurant.
Wilson Hardware Kitchen & Bar
A large (7,000 square feet) multi-level restaurant with an outdoor patio and rooftop bar (heated in winter).
